When using vinegar as a hair rinse (it's wonderful for hair when diluted with rosemary hydrosol or infusion), give a little massage to spread it on all the hair, and then rinse it as well. Yes, rinse it. You will be able to feel on your hands how the hair is getting smooooooooth as the water flows taking away the vinegar. Also, it smells better ;)

hi lise! will this type of hair wash work with other clays too? or is it better to stick with rhassoul because it's sebaceus gland friendly? i think what i have on hand now is bentonite clay.
Hi Alicyn! Great to hear from you! In theory, you can use other clays as the difference between montmorillonite and bentonite clays is - as I understand from a quick search - a question of purity. I have personally never tried using other clays on my hair, so you have actually gotten me all curious again… Expect a separate blog post on this interesting question! :)
thanks! i think i'll take a page out of your book and just try it. :) i went on a little hike today, and since our so. cal. "winter" is still ~70 deg F, i'll let you know if bentonite can handle a sweaty scalp!
I've tried a few clays other than rhassoul and had excellent results... but each clay definitely performs differently! My favorite is a mixture of bentonite and rhassoul... because bentonite holds water differently than other clays, I was able to get a consistency that was easier to use (more like a thick gel kind of). It's also great to use vinegar as the liquid!
