Fresh Kiwi & Oat Moisturizing and Toning Mask
This mask is ideal for normal, oily, and combination skin. If you have sensitive, dry and/or mature skin you can use it too, but will want to to remove it a tad sooner.
(The pic above is not the mask, but I thought it would be a bit more fun for you to look at a lovely lady with slices of kiwi on her face than a shot of the ingredients).
Do you have a small handful of raw rolled oats?
raw honey?
half a fresh kiwi?
Excellent! Then let's get started!
Whizz the oats in a handy dandy stick blender attachment thingy until you have something resembling oat flour. Peel and mash the half kiwi in a small container.
Add a teaspoon of honey and stir.
Add oats and stir until you have a pasty mixture that hangs together. You're looking for a texture that is thick enough to stick to your face but thin enough to distribute.
Wash and dry your face and neck with a good cleanser. Then apply the mask to your face and neck as evenly as possible. This is not as easy as applying a clay mask, as this mixture is both softer and lumpier.
It's Not Covering!
Even though the mask will be a bit 'see-through' in places, it will still work beautifully. (I know I told you to apply to your neck but didn't do it myself. I was busy documenting the process, so you'll just have to imagine the neck part).Chill
Sit back and relax for 10-20 minutes. If your skin is sensitive, you will want to remove this mask after approximately 10 minutes. The oats will cause this mixture to morph into a soft, rubbery film if you leave it on for the entire 20 minutes. This isn't bad, but if you have sensitive skin, the extra effort (read: rubbing) it takes to remove the mask could distress the skin unnecessarily.
To remove
Wet a natural sponge and gently soften and remove the mask. Rinse and repeat until it is completely gone. Pat dry.Finish
Finish with a spritz of hydrosol or a good non-alcoholic skin tonic and a light layer of face oil.Enjoy your revitalized, moisturized, and toned skin!
