How To Make an Oatmeal & Clay Cleansing Bar
This cleansing bar has a nutty, buttery, oatmeal scent that will delight your nose as it cleanses, gently exfoliates, and moisturizes your face and neck – great for a morning cleanse. To top off all this goodness, it's both easy and inexpensive to make.

Does it get any better than that? What are we waiting for? Let's get started!
The following will make 1 bar of 100 gr (approx 3.5 oz)
Ingredients List
22 gr (0,8 oz) cocoa butter20 gr (0,7 oz) virgin coconut butter (unrefined if you want the full benefit of the scent)
40 ml (1,3 fl oz) hazelnut oil (sweet almond will do as well, but you won't get that delicious nutty scent and the bar will feel slightly greasier to use)
37 gr (1,3 oz) white clay
10 gr (0,3 oz) oats
'Powderize' the Oats
The oats need to be ground to as fine a powder as you can possibly make (using everyday kitchen equipment). Give them a proper whizzing in a grinder or handy dandy stick blender with chopping attachment. If you are a non-electrical kitchen equipment kind of person, expect to be spending a bit of time using a mortar.Your pulverized oats should look similar to this.
Melt The Butters
Always melt your butters slowly over LOW heat. Start with the butter that has the highest melting point – in this case, cocoa butter. Add the coconut butter as soon as the cocoa butter is melted. Remove from heat immediately and stir until the coconut butter is melted. Add hazelnut oil. Beware: at this point the scent may already have you thinking of making cookies.Add Dry Ingredients
Add clay and oats and stir until the mixture is even.Pour into mold and let set a few hours or overnight in the refrigerator.
Unmold, Slice and Store
This bar is VERY soft, so you will need to refrigerate it when not in use. Section off portion sized pieces that can be grabbed when needed.Tip: although the portions look and smell similar to oatmeal cookie dough, be sure to use them on the face, not in it.
Enjoy!
