Discount Solution - Two Minute Honey Mask
Here's a super simple and super effective cleansing, detoxifying and softening face mask that is quick, easy and inexpensive. It's even ideal for daily use. Matter of fact, if you try this every day for a week, I'm betting you will see and feel a noticable difference – whether you have problem, dry, oily, mature or sensitive skin (almost sounds like a miracle cure for everything, doesn't it?). Here's the coolest part: you only need one ingredient: raw honey!
(I find brushing the teeth is the perfect use of this waiting time)
I normally finish with a hydrosol skin mist, but managed to abstain one evening (it's hard when you're addicted to rose hydrosol) and was pleasantly surprised at how moisturized my skin felt – even without my usual skin mist.
What's So Special About Putting Raw Honey on Skin?
- Raw honey contains a generous handful of minerals, albumins (water-soluble proteins), enzymes and vitamins (that are otherwise mostly lost if the honey is pasturized).
- It is antisceptic and antibacterial.
- It is moisturizing and toning.
- A 2007 study suggests the topical application of honey may reduce swelling and scarring when used to help heal wounds.
- It's fun, sweet, and beneficial – all at the same time!
Shall we get started?
Step 1:
Remove makeup and wash face. Do not dry. You want to apply the honey to damp-ish skin for easy application.
Drip (or scoop if you are using cold-slung honey*) about a teaspoon of honey into your hand, 'warm' the honey by rubbing it between your hands and apply to your face and neck.
* cold slung honey is extracted from the honeycomb without the use of heat
* cold slung honey is extracted from the honeycomb without the use of heat
Step 3:
Leave for 2 minutes(I find brushing the teeth is the perfect use of this waiting time)
Step 4:
Rinse
Surprisingly, raw honey rinses off very easily, leaving no stickiness at all (unless you forgot to pull back your hair and got some honey in it)
I normally finish with a hydrosol skin mist, but managed to abstain one evening (it's hard when you're addicted to rose hydrosol) and was pleasantly surprised at how moisturized my skin felt – even without my usual skin mist.
TIP: If you don't normally wear make-up, you can go straight to step 2. The honey will cleanse your face beautifully.
Have fun!

Have you ever tried putting honey on your face? Are you willing to give it a go, or do you think it's a totally bonkers thing to do?

Tak for tippet.

Jeg skal nok give feedback. Koldslynget honning. Det er noteret ;-)

I really enjoyed your take on this. Your posts are always so informative Lise!
Skal honningen være Raw eller kan andre også brugs?
Hvilken honning køber du? :)
Har du prøvet Emmery Skin Care? Jeg er ret nysgerrig for at høre din dom over deres produkter:

Kender du produkterne?
Mvh. Helene
Masken prikker lige rigeligt i min sarte hud. Jeg ønsker mig en Lise-blandet version, for jeg kan ikke helt holde til at bruge honning rent. Jaja man er vel en sart dåse :-P
